Every year fewer MultiValue systems live in isolation. In many businesses, even though the MultiValue system may run the core processing than keeps the business alive, many enterprises have a mix of information platforms for web stores, data warehouses, business intelligence processing, you name it. We, the MultiValue Community, know that in most cases our platforms can do all that, too. But regardless of our opinions, the fact remains that part of our jobs these days is to work with non MultiValue developers — usually relational database folks speaking SQL-ish — and find ways to share data in both directions.

This session explores some of the communication pitfalls, misunderstanding, and commonalities that we and “they” run into and how to overcome them without getting into verbal fist-fights and geek-level bickering.
