The Texas Multi-value User Group (TEXMUG) will hold their Q4 Meeting on Thursday, November 10th, at 5:30pm. The location for the meeting is again 'Party Off the Grid' in Dallas, with facilities sponsored by Strategy7 corporation.
The focus for this meeting is communicating with external web services from within Multi-Value databases. This will include a demo of sending MV data to XML documents, and will provide a summary of relevant XML and web services concepts. There are numerous middle-ware packages available to make calls IN to MV databases, however, this session will focus on calls OUT to other services, including the use of SOAP, HTTP, or Sockets.
Other short member-led presentations may be added. The member led discussions, where colleagues present recent projects or new technologies they have employed, are often the favorite sessions of the year.
Please join other MV colleagues for a night of networking, personal sharpening, and Texas cuisine (TBA). www.texmug.org for more info or to RSVP. Who should attend: CIO's, Developers, Integrators, Consultants. Multi-value 'newbies' always welcomed.
The Texas Multi-Value User Group (TEXMUG) is a technical/professional group of end users, developers, and suppliers, networking together to enhance member skills and knowledge. Presentations cover database tuning, programming methods, application development tools, issues related to multi-value environments, and current events in the MV industry. Topics of general interest to IT professionals such as Data Warehousing, SQL, C#, Java, Reporting Services, and Business Intelligence are also addressed, with a view to integration/interoperation with an MV environment. There are many present day variants of the original Pick/Nelson database model: IBM-U2, Pick D3, Arev, OpenInsight, QM, MaVerick, mvOn, Cache`, RealityX, Jbase, to name a few, as well as many providers of MV-aware BI tools, middle-ware, and integrated development environments. We believe that consistent participation in an effective user group by people with an interest in Multi-Value will sharpen their own knowledge, foster a more vibrant MV 'space' in the IT world, spread the passion for the MV database model to other IT professionals, and help extend the life and effectiveness of MV embedded applications. You are cordially invited to meet other MV professionals and Users at the next meeting of TEXMUG.
