Since the introduction of wIntegrate 6.0 in December of 2004,
IBM has released two major patches for wIntegrate. wIntegrate
6.0.1 was released on June 24, 2005. wIntegrate 6.0.2 was
released on April 25, 2006. These patches have provided
substantial additional function for wIntegrate's users including:
Query Builder supports UNLIKE operator
The Query Builder has a dialog to specify selection criteria
for host items. This dialog now supports the UNLIKE operator.
The Script Monitor has an email button
If an error occurs in a script, the script monitor dialog
appears. This dialog now has an email button. If a MAPI-compliant
email client is running, a new email is generated and displayed,
ready for the user to send. The email contains details of the
script error and a bitmap of the application screen.
Type-ahead in dialogs
All GUI dialogs now support type-ahead. This applies to the
local-install version, the Windows thin client and the Java
client.
Java client improvements
The Java client has many enhancements, particularly for
host-driven GUI applications. Some specific improvements are:
- Java client can copy bitmaps to Clipboard
- Prompts to allow SSL certificate which cannot be verified by
the Java client
Java client and SSL certificates
wIntegrate Server configuration now supports SSL to secure
communications with the Windows or Java thin clients.
Support for Thai Language
The emulation screen supports Thai in the display and keyboard
input.
The Setup Terminal dialog has a new option "Thai for Host
Encoding". Multiple sessions can be run at the same time, each
with a different language, for example English, Chinese and Thai.
The Windows and Java thin clients do not support Thai.
PDF output for report writing
The Query Builder and Report Wizard can create reports in PDF
format. A Format button lets you choose page size/orientation,
fonts, etc.
High speed data transfer using UniObjects
wIntegrate now supports UniObjects for data transfer. This is
an alternative to FTP. UniObjects has the added advantage of
supporting SSL for secure connections.
