U2 Users Group rolls out new website
The new website http://www.mvopen.org/cms will replace the current www.u2ug.org website. They will continue to run the two websites in parallel for a couple of weeks until they are certain that the new site is fully functional. After that trial period, www.u2ug.org address will redirected to the new website. Much of the content from the current site has been migrated, and the new site provides facilities that will make the U2UG better able to serve the U2 community. The new site runs on UniVerse, giving us a platform we can extend into the future. The U2UG Board are extremely grateful to IBM for donating the UniVerse license for the website.

F.W. Davison & Company, a payroll and human resource software provider, and Entrinsik, producers of Informer Web Reporting Software have worked together to complete the integration of their respective software packages. Customers of F.W. Davison’s popular HRPyramid software now have access to an embedded version of Informer utilizing HRPyramid’s sophisticated security settings to manage reporting access. The two companies have also entered into a joint marketing agreement for the integrated software. "The integration of these two packages provide HRPyramid users the intuitive reporting functionality of Informer without any fear of accessing unauthorized data," said Scott Hastings, CEO of F.W. Davison. "We are excited to have this secure, user intuitive web reporting solution available to our customers." Brad Leupen, CTO of Entrinsik added, "During the integration project, we learned from F.W. Davison and some of their customers the important need of allowing some of the HRPyramid advance security settings to translate into reporting access through Informer. We worked together to include a suite of technical enablers into our standard VAR Informer package to assist the implementation of the more advanced custom features required." "We are delighted to form yet another partnership with a software company in the IBM U2 space," said Doug Leupen, President of Entrinsik. "We believe this will provide a win-win-win situation in which Entrinsik, F.W. Davison and F.W. Davison’s customers all benefit."

MultiValue Database now available on the PDA
Ladybridge announced at the International Spectrum 2007 Conference and Exhibition the release and availability of QM for Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 5.0. The PDA is the truly portable computer of the future although, until now, it has not offered a true database package. With QM running under Windows Mobile 5.0 or the older Windows CE, you can carry around a complete database in your pocket. With help from Peter Schellenbach of AccuSoft, new features and additions will be continually added. The PDA version of QM is essentially a single user version of the full QM product. It has support for outgoing network connections (including QMNet) to provide easy synchronization with the main database server. Data files and compiled application programs are totally compatible with other QM platforms. Although the user interface is essentially character mode, program interfaces allow control of the keyboard display and detection of stylus taps. Standard QM menus are extended to allow the stylus to be used to select actions and it is easy to integrate similar mechanisms into application software. Whilst the PDA is a single user environment, QM retains support of locking for QMNet and also to minimize changes to applications that are ported from multi-user environments.
