International Spectrum 2008 was a huge Success.

"Working Smarter, Not Harder" was the mantra at the International Spectrum 2008 Conference in Newport Beach.  The conference was a huge success and was the first major shift in the conference in many years.

With a new focus on educational content, we went out to the experts in the marketplace to create as much non-partisan training as possible.  We included both MultiValue-specific eduction, as well as general eduction like Linux and Windows Administration, PHP, ASP.NET, and JAVA Quick Start classes, to help MultiValue developers and administrators to keep their business applications current with modern techologies.

In addition to the sessions, we have several network events ranging from two breakfasts, one round table lunch, as well as the preview party and closing conference party.

Many attendees express positive feedback at the conference when I talked to them in person.  I would like to ask the attendees of the conference to provide your feedback and testimonials so other people can benefit from what you saw at the conference this year.

Entrinsik Customers Demonstrate the Power of Informer at the 2008 Annual Datatel® Conference in Washington, DC.

Entrinsik, Inc . showcased the latest release of its Informer Web-based Reporting software at the 2008 Annual Datatel Conference in Washington, DC on March 9-11th, 2008. With Informer, customers experience a fully integrated, powerful yet intuitive, web-based reporting solution to easily and securely access data in real time directly from UniVerse® and UniData® databases.

An impressive total of eight Informer customers conducted several well-attended sessions throughout the conference demonstrating how they are using Informer within their own organizations for recruiting, data management, business intelligence, admissions, financial aid, and much, much more.

In addition, countless end-users of the software stopped by Entrinsik 's booth just to express how well Informer is working for them.  "We've used Informer for a couple years now and have been recently running about 5K reports a month, said Jeff Jones of Fresno Pacific University. " I did a quick analysis for my boss on the value of Informer to our organization and discovered that by using Informer we save about 40hrs a month in time spent executing reports - great product and it pays for itself!"

These organizations have discovered the power of Informer to dramatically improve their operational reporting capabilities, and conference attendees benefited from hearing actual customers describe how they are using Informer and the impact it has had on their organization.

"It's an incredible testimony to the power of Informer to do exactly what we designed it to do... and more", said Doug Leupen, President of Entrinsik .  "We have a fierce commitment to our customers and we are thrilled that so many users of Informer have decided to share their successes using our software".

  MultiValue Tech Tip!

Dan Wagner was kind enough to supply the following tech tip to allow D3 AQL statements to scroll from TCL.

D3 Scroll AQL reports  (W option

w{-}{number}

Displays the output of a list or sort command in a full screen window, allowing the user to scroll backward, forward, left, and right through the report.  If a minus sign (-) displays after the w option, then a wide virtual display is used to display the output of the AQL sentence.

The user can then scroll left and right a screen at a time, as well as up and down a screen at a time.

If a number is entered, that number of lines from the top of the first page are stored away as the header, and are displayed on each page. This may cause confusion for reports that display the page number within the header. The h option (hdr-supp) is automatically appended to any reports that do not include a heading entence.

A short help screen is available. while displaying the output to elaborate on the keystrokes.

example:
SORT VENDOR WITH YTD.PAID > "10,000.00" BY-DSND YTD.PAID VENDOR.NAME YTD.PAID PRIOR.YRPAID (W-2

SORT CASHRECEIPTS WITH CUST.NO = "000221" BY DATE DATE TOTAL AMT.PAD (W

The  (W option provides easy scrolling of all AQL reports .

I know you will find this extreamly useful and easy to add to any application software.
